Corn prices jumped to a record $6 a bushel Thursday, driven up by an expected supply shortfall that will only add to Americans’ growing grocery bill and further squeeze struggling ethanol producers.
Can someone explain why the heck, with all the g’damn corn we have in this country, we’d actually have a “shortfall” of “supplies” to make the garbage sweetener we put in everything?
Jesus, if they think we need more corn they must be crazy. Hopefully this will shift the market in a more natural direction, but I doubt it.
